Custom Lobby Sign for Mortgage Services III, Inc. in Pewaukee, Wisconsin
When our friends at Mortgage Services contacted us and asked if we could move their existing signs, we wanted to see what they currently had. We always make sure that we get at least one site visit before we propose a solution, and this wasn’t going to be an exception.
MSI’s old location was nested behind I-94 at Goerke’s Corners. Believe it or not, they had a 5′ x 12′ monument sign that no one could see. It even faced the only road that you could use to get to their offices. What a waste of a beautiful sign. Just because someone didn’t take the time to look for the available traffic pattern. It became obvious quite quickly that moving the signage really wasn’t an option as the new location didn’t allow for a monument sign and the offices were configured completely differently.
The new offices were bright and had a very efficient layout complete with a private hallway, reception desk, and a waiting area for their clients. Of course each area would require a different style of sign. We started in the hallway and suggested an acrylic standoff sign. The main door was covered with etched glass from top to bottom and would need to be peeled. The problem is that there isn’t a good way to remove etched glass. Just a lot of grabbing and pulling with a torch. So we peeled the door and applied new, custom cut graphics to the door. Once entering the main receptionist area, we recommended a full scale lobby sign made out of laser cut industrial foam and laminated with 1/8″ acrylic. As you can see from the picture, it turned out perfectly. In the waiting area, we applied the customer’s logo to the wall using cut graphics.
The real fun came into play when we went to update the monument sign in the front of the building. The monument sign stands on a pedestal about 20′ and is visible from Capital Drive. The property owner had no idea of the dimensions, the colors or the type of composition of the sign so it required us to grab a bucket truck and inspect the sign up close. It appeared that the former company to work on the sign had decided to use cut vinyl on a steel plate. To bad that the sign has a beautiful array of LED’s inside the sign to really light up the sign. Just not bright enough to shine through the steel! We will never cover over a lighted sign because we are in a hurry. You do it right, all the time. So we hand cut a piece of lexan translucent PVC. We had to hand cut it as the sign wasn’t square and the only way to make the lens fit was to match the sign frame. We also matched the color of the sign. Our installers finished the install by placing the lenses in the frame and securing them with self tapping screws.
This was a complete package for MSI III, Inc. Three different styles of lobby signs, two glass door designs and a monument sign. If you are getting ready to move your company and you need the help of a sign professional, please give us a call at 262.289.9481 or email us at email@example.com.
